Brad Cage

Brad Cage joined EnerQuest in October 2019 as the Director of Engineering Operations. Mr. Cage has 20 years of experience in the industry encompassing drilling, completion, production, and reservoir engineering. Mr. Cage began his career in 1999 with Marathon Oil as an Operations Engineer in Oklahoma City. He oversaw completion and workover activities across multiple basins in Oklahoma. In 2003, Mr. Cage joined EOG Resources as a Drilling Engineer. He was responsible for improvements on programs in SW Kansas and the Oklahoma Panhandle as well as one of the first horizontal programs in the Texas Panhandle. In 2007, he switched roles and became a Reservoir Engineer. He was instrumental in changing the completion design of their horizontal programs to improve results and bringing forward new horizontal plays. He also became the Reserves and Capital Budget Coordinator for the Oklahoma City division. In 2011, Mr. Cage joined Devon Energy as a Completion Engineer. He made major frac design changes that resulted in dramatic production increases across multiple plays. In 2014, Mr. Cage became a Completions Advisor for all of Devon and had insight on every play in the company. Mr. Cage has done extensive research on reservoir rock & fluids interactions and the damage that could result from improper frac chemistry. He is a leader in traditional completion fluids and viscoelastic fluids testing. He is also an expert in GOHFER frac modeling.


Mr. Cage holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma. He is a published co-author on papers regarding integrated reservoir characterization and viscoelastic fluid testing methods.
